The 4-1-1 on Children's Ministry @ Woodlawn Chapel... - Professionally-staffed nursery care is provided for children birth through age five Sunday mornings. Please be sure to leave details about where you will be in the building in case we need to reach you, as well as any supplies your child might need. Fun fact: Nursery staff member Theresa Abounader has been working at Woodlawn Chapel since the church began in 1990!
- Children are always welcomed to attend worship. Pick up a special worship sheet coordinated to the week's scripture lesson from an usher. A special children's time is held near the beginning of worship, after which younger children may leave for the nursery. Fun fact: children who are baptized are welcomed to receive the sacrament of the Lord's Supper in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
- Bible Babies: an interactive class for parents and children ages 6 months to three years. Songs, movement, and instruments are used to help your baby learn about faith. She or he will begin to learn what it means to be part of God's church. Sundays, 10:45-11:10 a.m. Fun fact: our innvoative Bible Babies program received national attention from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education when it awarded us its "Vision of the Heart/Tolly Thompson Award."
- Sunday School Classes: are offered for children preschool through grade five. Click here to learn more about Seasons of the Spirit, the lectionary-based curriculum currently used at Woodlawn Chapel. Using a variety of learning materials and approaches, our classes are taught by dedicated volunteers who convey God's love and concern for each child. Our hope is that children will discover their importance to the family of God. The classes are aimed at stimulating a child's innate spirituality and desire to learn about God. Classes meet Sundays, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Fun fact: Children learn in more than one way. Sunday school at Woodlawn Chapel involves song, movement, mission, and developmentally-guided models for learning!
- Vacation Bible School: held annually during the summer. High-energy drama, music, stories and crafts are the basis for this incredible annual experience. Visit the VBS page for more information. Fun fact: VBS at Woodlawn Chapel fills up quickly. Be sure to sign your children up early. Better yet, volunteer and join the fun!

Fun fact: MDO has grown from a small cooperative parent's cooperative to a four day a week program with outstanding staff, many of whom are trained as early childhood educators.
