Music is an amazing gift from God. At Woodlawn Chapel, music is an integral part of our worship and praise. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the various opportunities provided in our music ministry. We accept all who wish to praise through song. Woodlawn's worship is supported by a talented choir and dedicated bell choir who meet weekly to rehearse. Special worship services, Taize-style prayer services, seasonal offerings are coordinated by the Session's worship committee and provide additional opportunities to praise God through music and fine arts. Woodlawn's music programs are under the direction of Eric L. Henson.
Eric leads the congregation and choir in experiencing a broad range of musical textures and sounds, ranging from classical to gospel, contemporary to contemplative. Worship planning is a critical activity involving musician, pastor, and other lay leaders. Eric has taught classroom music, coached privately, directed regional choruses and church choirs, led workshops on vocal technique and production, and has served as the worship leader for national conferences. Our worship is enhanced by his leadership and gifts. Eric L.
