What does it mean to be a thriving community today, and in the future?
The Mission of Woodlawn Chapel Presbyterian Church:
As God’s people, we are called to pray, to teach, to help, and to celebrate.
Our Vision:To become a learning, loving, and leading family of Christ.
Our Values:To express the Great Commission and the Greatest Commandment through hospitality, spirituality, and service/leadership.
Our values represent what is important to us in thriving as a community of faith, and help us discern where we are called to minister corporately and as individual disciples of Christ.
Our Hospitality gives witness to the servant nature of Jesus Christ;
Our Spirituality is renewed by the gift of the Holy Spirit, who leads our spiritual formation;
Our leadership/service reflects God's love in our world, and God's hope for our church.
As Presbyterians, we are guided by our denomination's constitution and confessional standards. Within the constitution of our church, we hear this stirring and historic call to mission:
"The great ends of the church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world."
